If someone wants to learn about me, the way I think, how I feel, what I do, it might as well be on and in my terms. One reason I started this site is to build a place where I could be laid bare, so to speak where the thoughts and ideas are all my own, even the filter is my own. No community guidelines or forums to attack my scurrilous prose. If I want to say that someone should go fuck their mother, or worse, I want to maintain ownership of that idea. I’m in the unique position where I can build my content in a space where I own everything hosted here. Social media platforms can get fucked with their terms of service. From now on, if I want to throw out a thought, I’ll do it here and then share the link. The people that care to know more, or who are curious can come here for my truth. For now, until I get in a good operating rhythm, this the format of the content. It’ll get creative as time goes on, certainly, but for now, these will be inane ramblings of a man approaching 50 (I’m 48 in case you were wondering).
That brings up the next question, I know who I am, mostly, but who are you? Don’t answer that just yet, right now, for me, it’s better thinking of you as a nameless, faceless, cypher of a vaguely human person. The unopinionated recipient of my passions (I don’t imagine I’d write anything if I didn’t have passions). Until I build an audience, a clear audience, you’re it, but I’m ignoring you. You’re here for me anyway. You don’t count, yet. Maybe one day I’ll pick someone to have a voice I can engage with, but until then, you are passive recipient of my voice. If you want a voice, start your own fucking website, buy a domain name, learn to code a bit, start your own self-hosted blog and do what I do. Until then, shut up, read, and hopefully you’ll be a little entertained.
I need to tighten my act for sure. I’m only on my lunch break so I should wrap this up and schedule to post it tonight.
Back at the office.
As I arrive, the guy on my left says that Iran has retaliated against our bombing strikes with an attack on Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a U.S. air base on the Persian Gulf. This is all new. I might have more information later.
